SIXTH GENERATION119. James RATCLIFF inherited land and property from his grandfather, Samuel Blyth, on 14 May 1785. His grandfather instructed that, at the time of his mothers death James would receive the farm property and land in West Bergholt where the family were currently living. James was to continue to pay his grandmother, Martha, £20 per year out of the profits of the land until her death. He was baptized on 25 Apr 1789 in West Bergholt, Essex. He inherited £100 from his father on 8 Jul 1800. James was to receive his legacy when he reached the age of 21. Until then it was to be invested and the interest earned used towards his upbringing. He was made Executor to the will of his mother, Susannah Ratcliff, on 24 Jun 1821. He inherited £300 from his mother on 16 Jul 1823. James was also to receive half share of the remainder of his mothers estate once all debts and legacies had been paid. He was married to Mary UNKNOWN before Jun 1821. Mary UNKNOWN inherited £30 from her mother in law, Susannah Ratcliff, on 16 Jul 1823. |
