341. Eliza Sarah BLYTH was born about 1847 in Braughing, Herts. She inherited £500 from her grandfather, Thomas Blyth, on 27 May 1869. The £500 was to be invested by her father, William, and he could receive the yearly interest. At his death Eliza was to receive the principal. 1861 Census: Elizabeth, 14, was living with her parents at Dunmow Down, Great Dunmow.
1881 Census: Eliza, 33, widowed, was living with William and Eliza Webb at Gt Town Farm, Hatfield Broad Oak.

She was married to Francis CATES (son of Francis CATES) on 23 Nov 1871 in Great Dunmow, Essex. Francis, 32, single, and Eliza, 26, single, were both from Dunmow. They were married by licence. Both signed the register. The witnesses inc Francis Cates and 3 others. Francis CATES was born about 1839. He was an Innkeeper in Nov 1871 in Dunmow, Essex. He died before 1881. Eliza Sarah BLYTH and Francis CATES had the following children:
