279. Emily Mary BLYTH was born on 19 Oct 1828 in Nayland, Suffolk. She was baptized in 1837 in Nayland Congregational Church, Suffolk. She was made Executor to the will of her mother, Mary Stammers Blyth, on 24 Feb 1854. She inherited one fifth of her mothers real and personal estate on 19 Aug 1854. She was made Executor to the will of Ann Catherine Blyth, her sister on 16 May 1898. The Will was proved in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk on 29 Jan 1901. She inherited personal items from her sister on 29 Jan 1901. Emily and her sister, Hannah, had to share their sisters clothes, plate, linen, china, books, jewellery, trinkets and personal ornaments. Emily also was to receive £200. She died on 27 Sep 1908. She was buried in Nayland Congregational Church, Suffolk. 1881 Census: Emily was a widow, living with her 4 children and a servant at Bear Street.
1891 Census: Emily was living on her own income at Bear Street, Nayland.
1900 Suffolk Directory: Emily was listed under the private residents section in Nayland.
1901 Census: Emily, 72, widowed, was living in Bear Street, Nayland with her 2 daughters and a general servant.

She was married to Frederick ALGER (son of Thomas Stammers ALGER and Harriet UNKNOWN) on 16 Jul 1857 in Nayland, Suffolk. Both Frederick and Emily signed their names. Witnesses to the marriage were Hannah Blyth, Edward Holton, James Blyth and Joseph Hammond. Frederick ALGER was a Warehouseman in 1857 in Birmingham. Frederick was working in Birmingham. He died before 1881. Emily Mary BLYTH and Frederick ALGER had the following children:

1891 Census: Ellen, 33, was living at Bear Street with her Mother, Aunt and sister. She was unmarried.
1901 Census: Ellen, 42, single, was living in Bear Street, Nayland with her mother and sister.

1891 Census: Katherine, 30, was living in Bear Street, with her Mother, Aunt and Sister. She was unmarried.
1901 Census: Katherine, 41, single, was living in Bear Street, Nayland with her mother and sister.
child455 iii. Charles F. ALGER was born in 1861 in Bath, Somerset. He died abt 28 Jun ___ in Liverpool Street Station, London. From the Minutes Book of Nayland Congregational Church:
"It is with very great regret that we chronicle the sudden passing of Mr Chas. F. Alger - the highly esteemed Treasurer of the Congregational Church, Nayland.
He was overtaken by a seizure on Liverpool Street Station when on his way to attend the Anniversary Services held on 28th June - intending to travel to Nayland with the preacher - the Rev W. Charter Piggott, of Streatham.
Very great sympathy is being extended to the Misses Alger - who are resident in Nayland.
Internment is to take place at Nayland on Wed July 4th at 3 P.M."

On the back were the following rough notes: "The N.C. Ch are mourning the loss of a very valuable officer under ___ tragic cirs. Mr C F A who was in town had arranged to travel to N. for Ch. A. with the preacher the Rev W.C. Piggott. When on LSS he was suddenly overtaken by a seizure - and carried to Barts Hospital - where in a few hours he passed away without regaining conscious."
He was an Ag Engineer Apprentice (Mker) as per 1881 Census. 1881 Census: Charles, 20, unmarried, was living at Bear Street, Nayland with his mother and 3 siblings.
