According to the 1874 and 1879 Whites Suffolk Directory James was Grocer, Draper and proprietor of the Gas Works. He was buried in Nayland Congregational Church, Suffolk. 1861 Census: James was 29, unmarried and living at 34 Court Street, Nayland with his brother Thomas and sister Ann.
