215. John Willis BLYTH was born on 21 Apr 1783. He was baptized on 26 May 1783 in Elmstead, Essex. He died on 13 Jul 1857 in Appledore, Devon. He was a Soldier. Entered army 24 Oct 1803 - Royal Artillery Drivers. This was disbanded in 1816, where he served in Northern Ireland, then in the Peninsula Wars, being wounded and decorated. John's death certificate stated that he was a Lieutenant in the Royal Horse Artillery.

He was married to Elizabeth WOODBERRY on 15 Oct 1807 in Loughea, Ireland. Elizabeth WOODBERRY died before 1836. She was born in Co. Galway, Ireland. John Willis BLYTH and Elizabeth WOODBERRY had the following children:

367 ii. James Davies BLYTH was born on 26 Jun 1809 in Aughram, Ireland. He was a former Dock Labourer as per 1881 Census. 1881 Census: James, 71 and widowed, was an inmate at St George in the East Workhouse, St George in the East, London.
368 iii. William BLYTH was christened on 4 Aug 1810 in St Leonards, Colchester, Essex.

Mary Ann BRIGHTON was born in 1810 in Brentwood, Essex. She died on 20 Feb 1881 in Vienna, Austria. From 1815 - 1816 John served in the Netherlands and France, where he met Mary Ann. He did not marry Mary Ann Walker (Brighton?) John Willis BLYTH and Mary Ann BRIGHTON had the following children:

369 i. Bland Ann BRIGHTON was born on 4 Jan 1837 in St Omer, Pas-de-Calais, France. She was a Governess as per 1881 Census in Scarborough, Yorkshire. Bland was a Governess to the Haddon family. There were 5 children. The Haddons also had 9 other people acting as house keepers, servants and domestic staff. She was also known as Bland Blyth. 1881 Census: Bland, 40 and single, was living at 1 Hollifield House, Scarborough, Yorkshire with the Haddon family.
370 ii. Helena BRIGHTON was born on 12 May 1838 in St Omer, Pas-de-Calais, France.
371 iii. Flora Blanche BRIGHTON was born on 12 Mar 1839 in St Omer, Pas-de-Calais, France.

373 v. Rodney Brighton BLYTH was born on 19 Sep 1843 in St Omer, Pas-de-Calais, France. He died about Feb 1844.
374 vi. Picton Jonathon George BRIGHTON was born on 19 Sep 1844 in St Omer, Pas-de-Calais, France.

He was married to Julia Ann BAGHOTT on 20 May 1843 in Kennington, Surrey. Julia Ann BAGHOTT was born in 1825. John Willis BLYTH and Julia Ann BAGHOTT had the following children:
