1881 Census: Charles, 50, married, was living at 16 Ipswich Road, Rushmere, Suffolk with his wife and daughter.
1901 Census: Charles, 72, was living with his wife, Eliza, in Rushmere Road, Rushmere.

He was married to Hannah SMITH (daughter of Robert SMITH and Sarah RUSH) on 18 Aug 1855 in Ipswich, Suffolk. Charles was 25 when he married. He was living in Ipswich. Hannah was aged 32 and single when she married. She was living in Woodbridge Road, Ipswich. They were married at the Bethsesda Chapel in Ipswich. Witnesses were Mary Ann Cossey and Richard Cossey. She was buried on 18 Aug 1895 in Rushmere St Andrew, Suffolk. Hannah was 73 when she died. She was living in Rushmere St Andrew. 1861 Census: Hannah, 39, married, was living with her husband and 3 children at Bloomfield Street, St Margarets, Ipswich.
