SIXTH GENERATION229. Samuel BLYTH was born on 9 Mar 1792 in Kirby-le-Soken, Essex. He was a Sealer. He died in George Town, Tasmania, Australia. He settled on the islands in Bass Strait. In 1849 he was living on Preservation Island, his occupation listed as a sealer, but it is believed Samuel went to the Victorian Goldfields in the 1850's for a short time and did not return to the islands. It is believed Samuel died in Tasmania, his where abouts is unknown. He may be registered as being buried at Georgetown, this is not confirmed. He was married to Polly MUNRO in 1845.
Polly MUNRO was born in 1823 in Port Phillip, Victoria, Australia.
Polly was a full blooded aborigine of the Port Phillip tribe who was abducted
with her mother by George Meredith and James Munro about 1835. In 1863 Thomas
Reiby wrote 'she has two interesting and pretty daughters living with her, the
elder 17 years old, the younger 14. The younger, Emma, I baptised' Samuel BLYTH
