88. Thomas BLYTH
was born about 1777 in Outside Essex. He was baptized on 30 Jun 1777 in Alpheton,
Suffolk. He inherited £200 from his father, William Blyth, on 12 Oct 1810.
This £200 was to be paid from the income received on the land left to Thomas's
brother, John. Thomas received a second legacy, £400 to be paid by his brother
William from the income received from Belsted Hall Farm.
When his father wrote his will Thomas owed him £100 for money or goods.
This sum was to be made part of his fathers estate. Thomas received one fifth
of the residue and remainder of his fathers estate after all debts and legacies
had been paid. He was a Farmer from Sep 1815 to Jul 1824 in South Hanningfield,
Essex. He was made Executor to the will of his brother, William Blyth, on 6
Jun 1819. He inherited £50 from his brother, William, on 17 Aug 1820.
He inherited one quarter share of his mothers personal estate on 23 Dec 1823.
His mothers Will instructed the Executors to convert the residue of her personal
estate into money and divide it between her four sons. He died on 2 Sep 1843
in Ramsden Crays, Essex. He was buried in Ramsden Crays, Essex. Memorial Inscription:
'Sacred / to the memory of / THOMAS BLYTH / of Crays Hall in this parish / who
died 2nd Septr 1843 / aged 66 years / And now O Lord what is my hope? Truly hope
is even in thee / also of / CHARLOTTE / widow of the above / who died 12th Feb
1858.' Footstone reads: TB 1843 / CB 1858. Thomas was the twin brother of John.
1808: Thomas was living in Tollesbury when his father wrote his Will.
Sep 1815 - Jul 1824: Thomas was living in South Hanningfield.
1841 Census: Thomas, 60, was living with his wife and one of their sons at Crays
Hall, Ramsden Crays. He was married to Charlotte CLARKE before 1 Apr 1821.
Charlotte CLARKE was born about 1789 in West Hanningfield, Essex.
She inherited a ring from her mother in law, Mary Blyth, on 23 Dec 1823. She
died on 12 Feb 1858 in Crays Hall, Essex. Charlotte died aged 69 years. Her
Will was proved on 5 Mar 1858. She was buried in Ramsden Crays, Essex. 1841
Census: Charlotte, 45, was living with her husband and one of their sons at Crays
Hall, Ramsden Crays.
1851 Census: Charlotte, 60, widowed, was living with her son in Ramsden Crays.
She was shown as a housekeeper. Thomas BLYTH and Charlotte CLARKE had the following
children:

David Theophilus BLYTH was born between 1799 and Jun 1819. He inherited
£300 in trust from his uncle, William Blyth, on 17 Aug 1820. The money
was to be invested and the interest used towards his education and upbringing
until he reached 21 years. If David died under the age of 21 then the trust was
to be divided between his 2 younger brothers, Thomas and George. He inherited
£100 from his Grandmother, Mary Blyth, on 23 Dec 1823. David was to receive
the £100 and accrued interest when he attained the age of 21. In a codicil
to her Will, dated 1st April 1821, Mary also left David all her plate consisting
of one Dozen Tea Spoons, a pair of Tea Tongs, four Table Spoons and a half Pint
Mug. A second codicil, written on the 4th May 1823, revoked the bequest of £100
and replaced it with a bequest of £50. The same terms and conditions applied.

Unknown BLYTH was born about 1818. He was baptized on 30 May 1818 in
South Hanningfield, Essex. The baptism register was hard to read, could not
work out the name of this son.

in South Hanningfield, Essex.
