1861 Census: he was farming 215 acres employing 8 men and 4 boys. 1851 Census: William, 42, was living with his wife in West Hanningfield. They had a servant, groom and housekeeper living with them.
1861 Census: William, 59, widowed, was living at Pinnings, West Hanningfield. He had a housekeeper, servant and general stockman living with him.
