was baptized on 18 Jan 1809 in Great Wigborough, Essex. He inherited use of
Belsted Hall when he reached 21 from his uncle, William Blyth, on 17 Aug 1820.
In the meantime the farm would be run by his father, Samuel. He was made Executor
to the will of his father, Samuel Blyth, on 5 May 1843. He inherited part share
of Belstead Hall, from his father on 20 Oct 1843. William received the use of
Belstead Hall Farm in Broomfield and Springfield in equal share with his brother,
John. At the time their father wrote his will the farm was occupied by their
brothers Thomas and John. Their father had recently bought the farm from William.
William was also to receive £70 per annum from the income of Sturgeons Farm.
William also received an equal share of the residue of his fathers estate.
He was made Executor to the will of his mother, Frances Blyth, on 4 Nov 1845.
He was made Executor to the will of his brother, Samuel Blyth, on 31 Aug 1874.
He died on 29 Oct 1889 in Colchester, Essex. His Will was proved on 20 Feb
1890 in Principal Registry, London. His estate was valued at £19,286.5.10.
He was a Retired Farmer as per 1881 Census. He was born in Great Wigborough,
Essex. Aug 1874: When his brother made his will William was living in Colchester.
He obtained a marriage license in 1838. William Blyth of Layer Marney &
Elizabeth Grimwood Harvey of Tolleshunt Knights. He was married to Elizabeth
Grimwood HARVEY (daughter of Thomas HARVEY) on 20 Dec 1838
in Tolleshunt Knights, Essex. William was from Layer Marney, Elizabeth was from
Tolleshunt Knights. Both were single and of full age. Both signed their names.
Witnesses were Jeffery Grimwood and Charlotte Harvey.
Elizabeth Grimwood HARVEY was born in 1815 in Tollesbury, Essex. She was
made Executor to the will of her husband, William Blyth, on 20 Feb 1890 in Principal
Registry, London. She died on 27 Oct 1893 in Colchester, Essex. Her Will was
proved on 29 Nov 1893 in Ipswich, Suffolk. Her effects were valued at £3,655.8.11.
The second executor was Charles Jeffery Harvey, Gent. 1881 Census: Elizabeth,
66, was living with her husband and his niece at East Hill, Colchester.
