SIXTH GENERATION170. Henry BLYTH was baptized in 1817 in Great Wigborough, Essex. He inherited a share in a farm from his father on 20 Oct 1843. Henry and his brother, Thomas, received an equal share of a freehold farm, approx 111 acres, called 'Hawls' or 'Paupers' in the parishes of Salcot Virley, Great Wigborough and Layer Marney. This was occupied by Henry's brother, Samuel, when their father wrote his will. Henry also received approx 5 acres of land called 'Flatt Lands' or 'Motts', Copyhold of the Manor of Gt Wigborough. Henry and his brother, John, were also to receive equal use of the farm, estate, lands, farming stock and household items, etc of Barn Hall, Tolleshunt Knights occupied by their father. Henry also received an equal share of the residue of his fathers estate. He inherited the residue of his mothers estate on 31 Jan 1860. Henry received the remainder of his mothers estate after the funeral expenses, debts and legacies were paid. He died on 28 Jun 1869. He was buried on 3 Jul 1869 in Tolleshunt Knights, Essex. His Will was proved on 31 Jul 1869. He was a Farmer in Virley, Essex. 1861: Henry was farming 100 acres. 1861 Census: Henry, 43, single, was living in Maldon Road, Virley with his cousin Matilda Luckin (37, b. Gt Wigborough) and a visitor.
He was married to Matilda UNKNOWN. Memorial Inscription: In affectionate memory

long time he bore / Physicians were in vain / Till Christe did please to give
him ease / And free him from his pain / Also of MATILDA his wife / who died October
1st 1880 / Aged 38 years / We must through much tribulation enter / into the
Kingdom of God. Matilda UNKNOWN was born in 1842 in
Virley, Essex. She was made Executor to the will of her husband, Henry Blyth,
on 31 Jul 1869. She died on 1 Oct 1880. She was buried on 6 Oct 1880 in Tolleshunt
Knights, Essex. Burial records show Matilda as being from Colchester, St Mary's.
Her Will was proved on 9 Dec 1880. Matilda's will and codicil was proved by
Charles Edward Addison of Colchester, Surgeon, and Frederick Robert Jones of
High Street, Colchester, Provision Merchant. Her estate was valued under £5000.
1869: Matilda was living in Virley when her husbands will was proved.
