Langham. Married by licence. Both signed their names. Witnesses were James Blyth
and James Blyth Jnr. Memorial inscription reads: Elizabeth Blyth, daughter of
/ The Rev William Kemp who was / for many years the faithful Minister to / the
people who assembled in this chapel / and Elizabeth his wife / together with
their second daughter Rachel and two sons William / and James are interred in
the / interior of this chapel. William KEMP was born
about 1764. He died on 30 Jun 1844 in Terling, Essex. He was buried in Terling,
Essex. The Reverend William Kemp was educated at Homerton College. He entered
the Christian Ministery at Colchester, Essex in 1793. On the 15th October 1807
William was ordained pastor of the Independent Church in Terling, Essex where
he served for the following 36 years, until his death in 1844, aged 80. Elizabeth
