72. James BLYTH was born in 1734. He inherited land and property from his Great Uncle, Isaac Blyth, on 23 Jun 1768 in Langham, Essex. "I Give unto my Great Nephew James Blyth and to the Executors and Admors and Assigns of the said James Blyth all my Right and Interest that I shall have at the time of my Decease in and unto the Lease of the Farm which I now Occupy under Jacob Hinde Esquire I Also Give and bequeath unto my said Great Nephew James Blyth all my Household Goods and Furniture both within Doors and without ____ with all my Implements of Husbandry and all my Stock whatsoever that shall be on the said Premises at the time of my Decease". He inherited land and property in Langham from his father on 29 Jan 1803. James's father left him land, approximately 10 acres, and property which was occupied by his brother Thomas , a cottage and land occupied by William Bazzell, a field of 10 acres called ___, Folly Field and a piece of land called 'Parkers'. All these were in Langham. James was to pay his brother £20. He died on 5 Apr 1812. James died aged 78. He was buried on 12 Apr 1822 in Langham Baptist Church, Essex. He was also known as James Blyth Snr.

He was married to Sarah GROVE (daughter of William GROVE and Elizabeth UNKNOWN) on 20 Jan 1769 in Langham, Essex. Both from Langham. Married by licence. Both signed their names. Witnesses were Dan. Blyth and Thos Fisher. Sarah GROVE was born in 1739. She was baptized on 15 Apr 1778 in Langham Baptist Church, Essex. She died on 10 Sep 1826. Sarah died aged 87. She was buried on 15 Sep 1826 in Langham Baptist Church, Essex. 1 April 1778: When Sarah was received into the Baptist Church she was living at Hill Farm, Langham.
1783: In her fathers will Sarah received a "Messuage called Gatehouse; messuage and land (1/2acre) called Gatehouse; a messuage lately erected on part of the aforesaid premises, all which abutt on Langham Moor and are in the occupation of John Cole and Thomas Webb; and a tenement called Gatehouse and 6 closes of land (16acres) in the occupation of William Grove; all copyhold of manor of Langham". James BLYTH and Sarah GROVE had the following children:

child144 iv. Mary BLYTH was born in 1774. She died on 23 Apr 1813. Mary died aged 39. She was buried in Langham Baptist Church, Essex.
child145 v. Samuel BLYTH was born about 1776. He died on 30 Jan 1797. Samuel died aged 21. He was buried on 6 Feb 1797 in Langham Baptist Church, Essex. 1783: From his grandfather, William Grove's, will Samuel received a Messuage and 4 acres of land called Gatehouse, copyhold of the Manor of Langham.
